Silver prints, 50x60 cm, 2017
In this series of works, Sunrise, Sunset, I implemented random acts, which leave their mark on the black and white chemical paper. I placed printing paper in a dark room and placed light bulbs covered in black wax on top of the paper. Once the wax got hot, it melted and exposed gradually the paper to light. The melted wax is also present, leaving traces on the image that is produced. Observing the result, raise associations to a place or an environment, seemingly concrete yet hard to identify. The range between abstraction and a concrete image, in which I create, generate questions about hierarchy or importance of the produced image, which might seem as a place with specific properties, compared with the physical action that created it.
